This totally bites! We need a giant bubble. Something to encase Lis in until her immune system gets back up to par. Some thing to get her away from whatever causes her fever. So if you have a big bubble then send it my way.
To catch you up to speed…yesterday Lis got a refill on platelets cause her counts were low. Later that evening she was feeling extremely tired and went to bed. She was also beginning to feel hot. We took her temperature at 9:30pm and she was at 99.5. Took it an hour later and she was at an even 100. She took Tylenol and seemed to calm everything down. Last night we couldn’t sleep. I worried about her and she was up and down with a fever. Lukas woke up at 5:30am so Lis and I got a good 4 hours of sleep.
This afternoon I came home for lunch and Lis was chilling. She ate lunch, laid down and began to heat up. We checked her temperature and it was 101. She called the doctor, I went back to work and a few minutes later Lis called to let me know that she had to go to the hospital. Luckily for us she’s at the hospital in town so it’s a short commute.
It’s now 4:30pm and Lis has been at the hospital for three hours. She still doesn’t have a room and I guess is in pain as her port doesn’t seem to work. Man, ain’t this fun! I’m at work, my Mom is with Lis, and Lukas is with my Grandparents at home.
So that’s a quick update on what’s going on. I hope to write more later tonight to give a better update since I’m not actually there to see what the heck is going on.
I\’m trying to mentally weave a bubble of protection and good wishes around your wife. Your site has helped me put my bad day into perspective, and I\’ve linked it to my site. I\’m struggling to work and go to school full-time, but today I realized that my life is full of blessings (despite all of the small irritations!). Thanks again and hang in there. I\’ll be thinking about you.
